It’s never too early to get experience
Meet Amber Dingeldein, Findlay’s Best!
So, you must get to know the most useful resource on campus that I discovered — the Internships and Placement Office (Career Services.) This office is packed with a team of people who are ready to help students enhance their careers. Most students go here for help building their resumes, learning interview skills, finding internships, connecting with employers, and finding jobs. Being prepared and gaining knowledge to help in going down your career path are essential. It is important to always start early, especially as a freshman. The earlier you can connect with companies and gain experience, the better opportunities that will come your way.
I was surprised to find out that the people in this office would be some of my favorite staff members at the university. Amber Dingeldein, Phil Gunder and Bradley Hammer are the people you need to get to know. They are very friendly, easy to talk to and will do everything they can to help you succeed! This year, Brad drove a group of us up to a career fair at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland to meet with employers and network. As a bonus afterward, we stayed to tour the arena and watch the Cleveland Cavilers game. It’s the small things that show how dedicated the University is to giving students all the opportunities that they can to help them reach any heights.
Currently, Amber has helped me find local employers, and she has even set up interviews for me so that I can find an internship for this summer! My majors are marketing and business management, so I am searching for internships that can give me experience in my career. I have three interviews set up for this week and I can not wait to see how they go! As long as I stay confident, personable, and optimistic, I believe that I can nail the interview and earn an internship position! Wish me luck!
