To a New Beginning!

So, it’s almost the end of this semester! Almost the end of me being a freshman! They say time flies. It does.

There are so many things that happened during this semester! So many ups and downs. I can’t lie, at times all I wanted was this semester to be over. There were personal obstacles and moral dilemmas, and both affected my college life directly. My first semester felt so much smoother and easier.

Today, I want to tell you that I know how it feels to be less than satisfied and to see yourself not doing your best. Today, I am here to say that college life can be much harder than you might think. All college students have a certain amount of pressure that they deal with. We’d love our life to be easy. But it’s not the easy days that will determine who we are. It’s the hard days! You know, the days when it’s hard to catch your breath. Days when your grip on your core values seems weak.  Days when you call on the superior one (no matter what you call it – God/Allah/Bhogoban) for the strength to survive!

May we never give up!  Who are we if we lose ourselves? Who are we if we can’t dig into that inner strength and reclaim our priorities?

My hope for the new academic year is to implement what I have learned from this semester’s life lessons as I approach the new one!  Also remembering all the bright spots and blessings, from International Night to Spring Concert-Chorale, from my amazing friends to my truly supportive teachers at UF! Here’s to not only the end of my freshman chapter but the start of a new, more challenging and hopeful future.

See you next fall, #OilerNation!
